Blumhouse is ready for Freddy. In the past few hours, the studio has dropped two major updates on the long-awaited Five Nights at Freddy’s movie adaptation. The first one came last night, which featured the first official look at the movie. The second came this morning, in which Jason Blum himself announced on his personal Twitter the movie’s release date, October 27th 2023! The film will be released both in theaters and on Peacock! Check them both out below!

Let’s talk about that picture! We see a full shot of the front entrance of Freddy Fazbear’s Pizza, which both the movie and game take place in. Standing in front are an unidentified child, and a mysterious bear animatronic. While the front sign itself has been leaked online in the past, this image shows the sign gorgeously lit up and showing some wear and tear. With stains on the lettering and a busted light, it looks like Freddy’s is showing some age.

As for the two figures in front, there’s tons of speculation on who they could be. Anybody familiar with Five Nights At Freddy’s lore knows one big thing about it, it’s a tangled web of hints and clues that are never FULLY spoken out loud in the games. While some fans have been quick to say that this is Freddy in the picture, other fans have pointed out that the bear is missing its ear, much like the mysterious Golden Freddy that only appears when players perform specific triggers to lure him out. But we’ll have to wait until this Halloween season to know for sure. The Five Nights At Freddy’s movie is described below.

Universal Pictures will release Blumhouse’s FIVE NIGHTS AT FREDDY’S on Friday, October 27, 2023 wide. The film will also premiere day-and-date with theatrical on Peacock.

Are You Ready For Freddy?

Five Nights at Freddy's Movie Delayed After Creator Trashes Script

Five Nights At Freddy’s began as a small indie game, created and developed by Scott Cawthon. What started as a simple, but petty, comeback to criticisms of his previous game characters looking like Chuck E Cheese animatronics turned into an explosive IP that swept the world! Five Nights At Freddy’s spans eleven videogames, a book series, and an entire genre of knock-off and parodies. The film adaptation was first announced in 2015, but was pushed back multiple times due to script re-writes, hand-offs, losing directors, and similar issues.

Currently, there are plans to produce two more sequels with Blumhouse, which will apparently follow the plots of the second and third games. While the waiting has spanned almost a decade, fans won’t have to wait much longer for Freddy to come their way, are you ready?
