We're not starting the new year off the right way at all. Just days after Bob Saget posted a touching tribute story in honor of Betty White's passing, the Full House star passed away shortly after performing his final comedy act in Florida. The actor and comic was found dead in his hotel room at the age of 65 and a cause of death has not yet been made clear.

In life, Saget was known for being very kind to everyone he met. This has left fans and friends everywhere in mourning after the news of his passing was announced. Among them is 99-year-old comedy great Norman Lear, who posted an image of himself alongside Saget to Twitter and wrote: "Bob Saget was as lovely a human as he was funny. And to my mind, he was hilarious. We were close friends and I could not have loved him more."

"Still in shock," said Gilbert Gottfried, who appeared on The Comedy Central Roast of Bob Saget. "I just spoke with Bob a few days ago. We stayed on the phone as usual making each other laugh. RIP to friend, comedian & fellow Aristocrat Bob Saget."

"It’s always disheartening when we lose entertainers that touched us thru their work, often doubly so when they were universally known for being kind, caring and funny. RIP to Bob Saget, and my heart goes out to all who knew and loved him," tweeted Zelda Williams.

Kat Dennings, who co-starred with Bob on the short-lived sitcom Raising Dad, posted online: "Oh god. Bob Saget!!! The loveliest man. I was his TV daughter for one season and he was always so kind and protective. So so sorry for his family."

"I am stunned! Noooo!!!!" tweets Meredith Salenger. "Bob Saget was just at our house a couple months ago! Truly the most kind man. What a heart. He had suffered so much loss. And he was a wonderful friend to so many. Just heartbreaking. Oh my just horrible. We loved him."

"There wasn’t a kinder person in Hollywood than Bob Saget," Josh Gad wrote. "I am having trouble wrapping my head around this. I do not want to believe this. It’s all too much to handle."

Another touching tweet from Joel McHale says, "I’m so shocked at Bob Saget’s passing. One of the most kind & thoughtful people I’ve ever come across & he just happened to be one of the funniest on the planet. I will miss you so much Bob. Love you dear friend. I’m so sorry Kelly Rizzo. And so sorry to the rest of the family."

And a message from a heartbroken John Stamos reads: "I am broken. I am gutted. I am in complete and utter shock. I will never ever have another friend like him. I love you so much Bobby."

The tributes continue to pour in as more and more friends and fans of Saget share their memories and thoughts on the comedian's death. Saget was one to always focus on the positive, as could be heard through his podcast Bob Saget's Here for You, which he created to help lift the spirits of people suffering during the pandemic. The world is now a little less funny without Saget but his memory will live on forever. Rest in peace.
