Bobby Cannavale and Nia Long are in negotiations to star in the upcoming comedy Spy, which was formerly known as Susan Cooper.

Melissa McCarthy stars as a female secret agent, who heads into the field to find whoever is responsible for the death of her lover and colleague (Jude Law). Jason Statham also stars as an overconfident but bungling spy, with Rose Byrne and British comedienne Miranda Hart starring in unspecified roles. Bobby Cannavale is portraying a villainous Italian playboy, while Nia Long is set to play one of the heads of the CIA.

Paul Feig (Bridesmaids, The Heat) is directing from his own original screenplay and producing alongside his FeigCo Entertainment partner Jesse Henderson and Chernin Entertainment's Peter Chernin and Jenno Topping. No production schedule was given.

Bobby Cannavale most recently starred in Lovelace and HBO's Boardwalk Empire, and he will next be seen in Chef and Annie. Nia Long is coming off roles in The Best Man Holiday and The Single Moms Club.
