Fans attending WonderCon in Anaheim, California last Sunday got a special treat from the Bob’s Burgers crew! 20th Century Studios screened the all-new full trailer, as well as some extra clips, for the upcoming Bob’s Burgers movie! The trailer and synopsis can be viewed below.

The Bob’s Burgers Movie” is an animated, big-screen, musical comedy-mystery-adventure based on the long-running Emmy®-winning series. The story begins when a ruptured water main creates an enormous sinkhole right in front of Bob's Burgers, blocking the entrance indefinitely and ruining the Belchers’ plans for a successful summer. While Bob and Linda struggle to keep the business afloat, the kids try to solve a mystery that could save their family's restaurant. As the dangers mount, these underdogs help each other find hope and fight to get back behind the counter, where they belong.

After almost two years of pushbacks and delays, thanks to the COVID-19 pandemic, The Bob’s Burgers Movie is finally making its way to theaters this spring. The Belcher family will get their debut on the big screen, with the show's cast reprising their beloved roles. H.Jon Benjamin will star as Bob Belcher, the father of the family and owner of Bob’s Burgers. Alongside him will be John Roberts as the wife Linda. Kristen Schaal, Dan Mintz, and Eugene Mirman will reprise their roles as the children Louise, Tina and Gene Belcher. The film is co-directed, co-written, and co-produced by series creator Loren Bouchard. Also co-directing is Bernard Derriman, who was supervising director on the show. Both Bouchard and Derriman won Emmy Awards for their work on Bob’s Burgers. While the clips soar quickly in the trailer, any fan of the show will recognize tons of cameos and throwbacks to previous episodes. There’s a little bit of everything here for any fan of the Belcher family!

More About Bob's Burgers

Bob’s Burgers made its network debut on January 2011. The show follows the Belcher family as they try to keep the lights on at home, as well as the family burger restaurant. This family, however, is far from ordinary. Each member of the house has their own charming quirk and is overflowing with personality. From Bob talking to the food he makes, to Linda breaking into song, Tina writing fan-fiction of her friends, Gene’s fascination with music, and even Louise with her schemes; it’s no wonder this family latched onto the hearts of viewers around the world. While the show initially received mixed reviews from critics and audiences alike, the show quickly found its footing and has continued running ever since. The show is currently running on its twelfth season, with reruns also airing on Adult Swim, FXX, and TBS.

The Bob’s Burgers movie was initially announced in 2017, with plans to release in summer 2020. But like a lot of projects in production around that time, the COVID-19 pandemic happened. April 2020, Disney announced that the film would be delayed until 2021, and in January 2021 it was delayed indefinitely. Finally, the wait seems to be over for fans of the show, which Bouchard has promised will be a big love letter to fans new and old.

"We know the movie has to scratch every itch the fans of the show have ever had, but it also has to work for all the good people who've never seen the show. We also know it has to fill every inch of the screen with the colors and the sounds and the ever so slightly greasy texture of the world of Bob's, but most of all it has to take our characters on an epic adventure. In other words, it has to be the best movie ever made. But no pressure, right?"

The Bob’s Burgers Movie is set for exclusive theatrical release on May 27th, 2022.
