The series will follow the fictional, groundbreaking collaboration between young, Hollywood socialite and music star Daisy Jones and the up-and-coming rock band The Six: a match made in heaven, right? Set in the height of 1970s Rock & Roll, the story will chronicle how addiction, sex, love, and life on the road unravel the band as they navigate their sudden rise to fame. This documentary-style miniseries will be produced by Hello Sunshine (Reese Witherspoon’s production company) and will star Sam Claflin and Riley Keough.

8 It Ends With Us

You cannot talk about popular BookTok books without mentioning Colleen Hoover at least once. Her most popular book (out of the many) would be It Ends With Us, a novel that follows the life of Lily, a young business owner in the city of Boston. Hoover pieces together a beautiful story that deals with love, second chances, loss, and the cycle of abuse. The novel It Ends With Us was originally released in 2016 and, due to going viral on social media, has now been present on the New York Times' Paperback Trade Fiction Best Sellers list for 48 weeks and counting. The movie adaptation of It Ends With Us is in the works and will be directed by Clouds and Five Feet Apart director Justin Baldoni. The Seven Husbands of Evelyn Hugo is a triumphant story following the extraordinary life and, yes, the seven husbands of fictional Hollywood movie star, Evelyn Hugo. A Court of Thorns and Roses is the first book in a series by Sarah J. Maas and one of the most popular fantasy series on BookTok. ACOTAR is expected to be adapted as a series on Hulu. The series, with involvement form Outlander creator Ron Moore, is anticipated to make a splash on the popular streaming service.

5 The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue

What would you do if you were able to live forever, but have nobody remember you in the matter of seconds? The Invisible Life of Addie LaRue is a fantasy story that not only captures a stunning yet heartbreaking tale of immortality, but one of perseverance and what it truly means to live and be enough for yourself and for others. Not much has been revealed about the upcoming film adaptation of V.E. Schwab's novel, but the excitement among fans of the book remains high.

4 They Both Die at the End

Spoiler Alert? They Both Die at the End. This LGBTQ+ young adult novel caught the attention of book lovers across the world from just the title alone. Author Adam Silvera offers up a story where our main characters Mateo Torrez and Rufus Emeterio are faced with the reality of having only one day left to live. Adapting this beloved novel is a tall order. However, who better to personify this story than the creator of popular Netflix series Bridgerton, Chris Van Dusen? Anticipate this series as well a prequel novel entitled The First To Die at the End to be yours to stream later this year.

3 One True Loves

Is this another screen adaptation of a Taylor Jenkins Reid novel? You bet! In One True Loves, our main character is forced to face a world without her first love when her husband tragically gets lost at sea. She ends up finding her second chance at love in a boy from her hometown, only to be thrown off course once again when her husband is found. The romance/drama film will release later this year and will star Phillipa Soo, Shang Chi actor Simu Liu, and Luke Bracey.

2 Heartstopper

Sometime's the simplest of stories can be the most meaningful, especially when it comes to young adult novels. Heartstopper is a bestselling LGBTQ+ young adult graphic novel that is being adapted into a live-action Netflix series. The graphic novel was released in 2018 and tells a wholesome and heartwarming tale of two boys navigating life, friendship, and young love. Have the popcorn ready because the series is set to release later this month, and will star Kit Connor, Joe Locke, Sebastian Croft, and Joseph Balderrama.

The BookTok display at a Barnes & Noble is not complete without a Sally Rooney novel present. Conversations With Friends follows a group of 4 friends and how their lives intertwine with one another. The story definitely sticks to being inherently human, focusing on the details of the human experience and personal relationships.
