This Halloween the documentary Boris Karloff: The Man Behind The Monster will finally be released on September 17th for a limited theatrical run. This is great news for any true horror fan as this legend was one of the key actors in so many classic films. Frankenstein, The Mummy and Bride of Frankenstein are some of the best known films from this legendary actor and now we will look into his life and more.

It was recently announced that Shout! Studios and Abramorama have joined together for the North American rights to this documentary. The limited theatrical run will begin on September 17th and Shout! will later release the film on Digital platforms.

The documentary is Directed by Thomas Hamilton. What we know so far is that the film is going to look into who this actor was as a person off the film and more. Boris Karloff was and is an icon still to this day but we only know what we see from his films,this new film will show us the man behind the many monsters he played in the horror genre.

Boris Karloff died on February 2nd 1969 at the age of 81. The died of pneumonia after contracting bronchitis. Boris Karloff was only a stage name as his real name was William Henry Pratt. In 1966 he won a Grammy for his role in the animated special Dr. Seuss's How The Grinch Stole Christmas in which he narrated the story. He also has two stars on the Hollywood Walk of Fame.

This icon has done so much for the genre and played some of the most famous monsters that we have grown to love and become a must watch for the Halloween season. This documentary will give us a more in depth look into his life and I am sure some rare footage.
