Bowling For Columbine: On August 19th MGM Home Entertainment will be releasing Bowling for Columbine on DVD, and it comes with plenty for people to argue over. First off the DVD will include a 1.85:1 anamorphic widescreen transfer and an English 5.1 Dolby surround track. The extras are surprising and plenty: an introduction by Michael Moore (director), an audio commentary by the production office receptionist and the interns, the Return to Denver/Littleton and Film Festival Scrapbook featurettes, three Michael Moore interviews including his Charlie Rose Show appearance, a chat with Clinton Press Secretary Joe Lockhart, a new Moore interview post-Oscars, a Marilyn Manson "Fight Song" music video, a still gallery and the theatrical trailer.

There's also DVD-ROM content: the "Teacher's Guide" education materials and "Mike's Action Guide," plus weblinks. This is shaping up to be a real nice edition to a film that has created much controversy. It's nice to see a major studio not back down, or shy away from a film of theirs that has caused such commotion.

Retail price is $26.95.
