Lionsgate has bought the rights to Ayn Rand's novel Atlas Shrugged.

The book, which spans over 1,100 pages, published in 1957, revolves around the economic collapse of the U.S. sometime in the future and espouses her individualistic philosophy of objectivism, reports Variety.

Expectant parents, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt, both fans of the novel and Rand, are rumored to be circling the leading roles of Dagny Taggart and John Galt.

There is no timeline set for a production schedule on Atlas Shrugged.
