Hollywood superstar and Academy Award winner Brad Pitt has teased his impending retirement, revealing that he believes he is in the “last leg” of his acting career. In an extensive new interview with GQ, Pitt revealed some insight into where he feels he is at this stage of his career, describing it as his “last semester” and stating that he is currently working out how he wants to design the final part of his legacy.

“I consider myself on my last leg. This last semester or trimester. What is this section gonna be? And how do I wanna design that?”

For decades, Brad Pitt has been a true movie star. The A-lister proved early on that he is much, much more than just a ludicrously handsome face with performances in the likes of Kalifornia, True Romance, and Interview with the Vampire. Despite his star already reaching the stratosphere, Pitt somehow climbed even higher thanks to iconic roles in the likes of Seven, 12 Monkeys, Fight Club, and Ocean's Eleven.

In more recent years, Pitt has somehow managed to prove his movie star status once again, delivering incredibly powerful, transformative performances in The Assassination of Jesse James by the Coward Robert Ford, The Curious Case of Benjamin Button, Burn After Reading, Inglourious Basterds, Once Upon a Time in Hollywood, and more. Indeed, Pitt has starred in so many award-winning, critically acclaimed films and expertly delivered across all conceivable genres, that listing them all would probably add up to an unnecessary word count.

While Pitt believes he is on his last leg, rather than leave the industry behind entirely, the 58-year-old actor may instead put all his efforts behind the camera. Pitt has already been the recipient of an Academy Award, a Golden Globe, a Primetime Emmy Award, and more, thanks to his work as a producer under his production company, Plan B Entertainment.

Thankfully, Pitt still has several major projects on the horizon before he walks away from the industry. Pitt will next star in the action hit Bullet Train from director David Leitch. Based on the popular manga "Maria Beetle" by Kotaro Isaka, Bullet Train follows Brad Pitt as trained killer Ladybug, who wants to give up the violent life and move on. Of course, as is so often the case with these things, he is pulled back in by his handler Maria Beetle for one last job; collecting a briefcase on a bullet train heading from Tokyo to Kyoto. Once aboard, Ladybug realizes that he is not the only killer on the train, coming face-to-face and bullet-to-bullet with a variety of other assassins, who slowly discover that their objectives are all connected.

Bullet Train is scheduled to be released in the United States on August 5, 2022, by Sony Pictures Releasing. Following the release of what’s sure to be an action movie hit, Pitt will then star alongside Margot Robbie and Tobey Maguire in Babylon from director Damien Chazelle.
