It looks like Brad Pitt's newest film is being pulled in multiple directions as a huge bidding war begin this past Friday over where it was going to land. The untitled racing film has caught a lot of interest amongst Hollywood’s major studios. The question is, "Where will it land?"

The film has Joseph Kosinski (Top Gun: Maverick) at the helm and is written by Paramount blockbuster's screenwriter Ehren Kruger and is also directed by the legendary filmmaker Jerry Bruckheimer. While no information has been provided yet, British Formula One driver Lewis Hamilton is involved in some capacity. The recipe for this movie is clearing driving the price tag up which is why so many studios are going after it with an open checkbook.

So who are the major players involved in this bidding war? Well, right now we know that Paramount has joined in as well as such studios as MGM, Sony, Universal and Disney, Netflix, Apple, and Amazon are competing to lock this major film down and have another hit. So far the film has not found its way to a home. With Brad Pitt attached to this project, it shouldn't take long for the movie to land somewhere.

Brad Pitt has not appeared in a movie since early 2020. He plans to star in three films by 2022, including The Lost City which also stars Channing Tatum, Sandra Bullock, and Daniel Radcliffe. He will also star in Bullet Train alongside Sandra Bullock, Bad Bunny, and Lady Gaga. The film is about five assassins who are riding on the same train and find out that each one of their missions has something in common. The third film is Babylon. In this Pitt is joined by Oliva Wilde, Margot Robbie, Tobey Maguire, Eric Roberts, and Flea just to name a few. There isn't much known about this film yet other than it is a period piece set in Hollywood. However, from the casting, it looks like this could be another huge win for Brad Pitt.

In this brand new world of streaming movies, this would be a huge win for any studio as they could have another blockbuster on their hands. At one point in time, a movie going straight to a streaming service would be looked down upon, however, now things are very different. Just look at the success of the $200 million budgeted Red Notice. Clearly, these studios are not playing around when it comes to the next blockbuster.

We are also seeing more and more top Hollywood actors go in this direction as well as directors and writers. With movie theaters still struggling it does seem like studios are leaning more in this direction or at least adding it to their plates. And with a track record like Brad Pitt has, I imagine it will not be long before we find out where this film will call home. For now, it's a waiting game but once we find out any more news, we will make sure we let you know. This news comes to us from Deadline.
