Brad Pitt is being courted to star alongside Tom Cruise in the 20th Century Fox auto racing drama Go Like Hell. If Brad Pitt signs on, it will be his first project with Tom Cruise since 1994's Interview with the Vampire.

Tom Cruise has been attached to the project since October, when it was announced that the actor will reunite with his Oblivion director Joseph Kosinski. The actor is playing Ford auto designer Carroll Shelby in this adaptation, which follows Ford's rivalry with Ferrari for supremacy at the annual 24-hour LeMans race.

Ironically, Brad Pitt had been attached to star in the project back in 2009, when Michael Mann was set to direct. The actor remained interested in the project and kept in touch with the new production team. It isn't known what role Brad Pitt may be interested in at this time.

Joseph Kosinski is directing from a screenplay by brothers Jez Butterworth and John-Henry Butterworth, based on A.J. Baime's book Go Like Hell: Ford, Ferrari and Their Battle for Speed and Glory at Le Mans. Lucas Foster and Alex Young are producing, although it isn't known when shooting may begin.
