In a promotional event held in Shanghai over the weekend, actor Brendan Fraser revealed that a third script for The Mummy franchise did exist and that part of the film was going to be shot in China/Asia.
According to Monkey Peaches, the actor also mentioned that he would be starring in Children of Guangxi.
Set in Shanghai in 1937, story of the film is about a journalist resisted to pay attention towards the Japanese invasion of China and later had a change of heart after witnessed the horror of Nanjing Massacre. Later he traveled to Guangxi and led some 50 to 60 war orphanages to safety. Cast of this dramatic piece, said to be based on fact, might also include Chow Yun-Fat and Michelle Yeoh. The script is penned by Paul Haggis (Million Dollar Baby).
