Filmmaker Brett Ratner is now flying a new flag. According to Variety, Ratner is moving his Rat Entertainment production company from New Line Cinema over to Paramount Pictures. He left the studio due to downsizing from Warner Brothers' takeover of New Line in February.

"I thought I'd stay at New Line for the rest of my life, but when Bob Shaye and Michael Lynne left, it was time to make a change," Ratner said.

Ratner already has two projects set up at Paramount, with the main picture being the Beverly Hills Cop IV sequel he's been attached to direct. That pic is slated for a production start next year for a 2010 release. The other film on Ratner's slate is Harbinger, which he is producing.
