Brett Ratner and Sony Pictures are teaming up for a big screen adaptation of Craig Marks and Rob Tannenbaum's expose "I Want My MTV: The Uncensored Story of the Music Video Revolution", which delves into the history of the iconic music video cable network.

Brett Ratner is producing I Want My MTV alongside Jimmy Miller, and may direct the project himself. Jody Lambert, who wrote the upcoming dramatic comedy Welcome to People, will adapt the book into a screenplay.

The film will follow MTV's inception in the early 80s, its growth throughout the late 80s and 90s, and its place as a power player in our current world of pop culture and entertainment.

There has been no production start date at this time.
