Originally scheduled to air on Fox more than a year ago, it seems that NBC has now picked up Brett Ratner and Neil Tolkin's police drama Blue Blood. According to Variety, NBC is currently in the process of producing the pilot for air early next year.
Tolkin wrote the pilot script, which is based on the best selling autobiography of New York City cop Ed Conlon. The one-hour series will revolve around a rookie NYPD officer who recently graduated from Harvard only to return to the family business of law enforcement.
Ratner is set to direct the pilot. He stated, "It's got a tremendous amount of heart and humor and action, all the things I like to do." Production will start sometime in the fall.
