Tom Hanks makes his bid for a third Oscar with the true-story adaptation Bridge of Spies, in theaters this fall. Four months after the domestic Bridge of Spies trailer was released, 20th Century Fox has debuted an international trailer with new footage that shows how one American lawyer was unwittingly thrust into the Cold War. This dramatic thriller marks Tom Hanks' third collaboration with director Steven Spielberg, following Saving Private Ryan and Catch Me If You Can.

A dramatic thriller set against the backdrop of a series of historic events, Bridge of Spies tells the story of James Donovan (Tom Hanks), a Brooklyn lawyer who finds himself thrust into the center of the Cold War when the CIA sends him on the near-impossible task to negotiate the release of a captured American U-2 pilot. Screenwriters Matt Charman and Ethan Coen & Joel Coen have woven this remarkable experience in Donovan's life into a story inspired by true events that captures the essence of a man who risked everything and vividly brings his personal journey to life.

Steven Spielberg's supporting cast is rounded out by Mark Rylance, Amy Ryan, Alan Alda, Billy Magnussen, Eve Hewson and Scott Shepherd in Bridge of Spies, which is set for release on October 16.
