Robert Pattinson and Carice van Houten have officially joined headlining stars Mia Wasikowska and Guy Pearce for the thrilling new Western Brimstone. Martin Koolhoven, known for his work on Winter in Wartime, is writing and directing the movie. Embankment launched the project at Berlin's European Film Market this week.

Brimstone is a suspenseful tale of guilt and retribution that unfolds at the end of the 19th century. A dark, violent and epic western about a young woman (and her family) whose lives change drastically when a diabolical preacher comes to town. From the moment the new reverend climbs the pulpit, Liz knows she and her family are in great danger.

Brimstone is set to begin shooting this May. Robert Pattinson is set to play an outlaw in this Western. N279 Entertainment's Els Vandevorst is producing, along with Studio Babelsberg, The Film Farm and Prime Time. Says Embankment co-founder Tim Haslam:

"Wasikowska is a powerhouse performer. Guy Peace plays a hunter who unleashes hell. Martin directs a highly emotional, gripping and unique story of a mesmerizing woman who battles the vengeance of a zealot."
