Quiver Distribution has just released the official trailer and poster for Bromates, a buddy comedy film produced by legendary hip-hop artist Snoop Dogg. While Snoop also appears as himself in a cameo role, the movie primarily follows Lil Rel Howery and Josh Brener as a pair of best friends looking to get through their own respective breakups. The film will be released in theaters and on demand on Oct. 7, but ahead of the premiere, you can get your early peek at the film now by watching the trailer below.

Snoop Dogg executive produces Bromates which is directed by Court Crandall (writer, Old School). It is written by Crandall and Chris Kemper. Kemper also executive produces with Snoop Dogg while Nicholas Tabarrok produces.

Bromates was initially conceived as what would happen if you took today’s complicated environment of dating and social media and combined it with The Odd Couple,” said Crandall when the project was first announced. “Our goal was to make a big raucous comedy, but at the same time give it a contemporary flair that made it more inclusive.”

The film stars Josh Brener (Silicon Valley), Lil Rel Howery (Get Out), Brendan Scannell (Heathers), Asif Ali (WandaVision), Jessica Lowe (Minx, The Righteous Gemstones), Flula Borg (Pitch Perfect), Ken Davitian (Borat), Taryn Manning (Orange Is the New Black), Marla Gibbs (227, The Jeffersons), and Rob Riggle (The Hangover).

The official synopsis for Bromates is as follows:

When best friends – though polar opposites – Jonesie (Lil Rel Howery) and Sid (Josh Brener) both break up with their girlfriends at the same time they decide to move in together in a misguided attempt to help each other through their respective breakups. Alongside their friends Angry Mike (Asif Ali) and Runway Dave (Brendan Scannell), things move quickly from heartbreak to hilarity, to life, and potentially, death.

“I really believe that the humor and relatability through the story can bring awareness to clean energy and climate change at the same time," co-writer, executive producer, and Palmetto Solar CEO Chris Kemper said of the film. "Subtly, through creative projects like Bromates, we are bringing attention to the topic outside the news cycle as an innovative way to reach people."

Kemper's Palmetto Clean Technology, Inc., is the employer of Josh Brener's character in the film. Kemper's work focuses on technology-based solutions and he has a love for the environment which is shown through various collaborative, creative education projects. Writing and executive producing Bromates is just one of those efforts.
