Veteran actor and B-movie legend Bruce Campbell has appeared in dozens of movies and shows over the years, and his fans will all have their own personal favorite characters that he's played. It's probably safe to say that Ash Williams of The Evil Dead and its sequels would be near the top of most fans' lists, as it's a character that he had played many times at different stages of his career. But there's certainly no shortage of other interesting and memorable characters for Campbell fans to choose from to pick as a favorite.
For his part, the groovy one was asked to name his favorite character from his career in a new interview with Game Informer to help promote Evil Dead: The Game. It's hard for Campbell to pick just one specific character, but he has a top five, which includes a mix of movie and television roles. Of course, Evil Dead protagonist Ash Williams is a part of the top five, given how the character is synonymous with the actor at this point. Campbell also names four other fan favorite roles, and throws in a bonus sixth role as well:
"I sort of have a top five. You know, Ash, Brisco County Jr., Bubba Ho-Tep. Even Hercules and Xena, playing Autolycus, the king of thieves. Jack of All Trades was fun. I would throw Burn Notice in there, too."
Many of Campbell's fans will be happy to see him naming the titular cowboy from the cult classic TV series The Adventures of Brisco County, Jr., a show that aired for one season in the early 1990s. Fans also loved Campbell's time as Autolycus in Hercules and Xena, so it's not terribly surprising to see that character make Campbell's list as well. Jack of All Trades is comparatively a bit more obscure, running for two seasons in 2000 and starring Campbell as a secret agent in the 19th century. Meanwhile, Campbell's Sam Axe from Burn Notice was such a hit that he was given his own TV movie in 2011.
The only movie character besides Ash to be named is Elvis Presley, as he was portrayed by Campbell in the 2002 cult classic Bubba Ho-Tep. One of Campbell's most unique films, the Don Coscarelli-directed flick picks up with an older Elvis living in a retirement home after switching identities with an impersonator many years before, unbeknownst to anyone else. He partners up with a Black man who insists he's JFK (Ossie Davis) to protect the other residents when the retirement home comes under attack from an ancient mummy.

As for what's next for Campbell, the actor will likely appear in Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness. The superhero movie is directed by Evil Dead helmer Sam Raimi, who's been known to include Campbell cameos in his other films. Campbell has also teased his cameo but also tells Game Informer that there's a chance his footage has been axed.
"The Marvel guys, they make eight of these movies at the same time, so they're always updating storylines. So, my buddy Sam has had to add scenes that they told him he had to shoot, and he's removed scenes that no longer apply. So, until May when this movie comes around, I'm not even sure Benedict Cumberbatch knows whether he's in this movie or not."
Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness will be released on May 6, 2022.
