As far as Sam Raimi was concerned, it wasn't a Spider-Man movie without a special appearance from The Evil Dead star Bruce Campbell. In Raimi's first Spider-Man film, Campbell played a pro wrestling ring announcer who introduced Peter Parker (Tobey Maguire) for his match against Bonesaw McGraw (Randy Savage). Though Peter wanted to be introduced as "The Human Spider," Campbell instead announced him as "The Amazing Spider-Man." Obviously, the name would stick, and Peter's alter-ego was Spider-Man from that point forward.

In Spider-Man 2, Campbell was brought back to play a different character, this time as a snooty usher who stands in Peter's way from catching Mary Jane's (Kirsten Dunst) play. The usher chastises Peter for showing up late, ordering him to straighten his tie and fix his shoes. Even after all of that, Campbell refuses to let Peter inside, causing him to miss the play and further wreck his relationship with MJ.

Naturally, Spider-Man 3 would feature Campbell in another cameo. He plays a French maître d’ at a restaurant where Peter intends to propose to Mary Jane. This time around, Campbell's character, though eccentric, is more of an ally to Peter, quickly agreeing to help with his proposal. He watches on waiting for Peter's cue to bring out the ring, though things don't exactly go according to plan with Mary Jane rushing out before Peter could propose.

So, which one is Campbell's favorite? Recently, Campbell was at a USO meet to speak with fans and was asked about his favorite Spider-Man cameo. He is fond of the ring announcer given the importance he played in the entire trilogy by naming the titular superhero. With that said, Campbell feels each of the three played big parts in Peter Parker's journey, even if none of them realized it. Per Redditor tylerjb223, here's what Campbell said when asked to name his favorite Spider-Man cameo character.

"I love them all, but the announcer was great. I gave Spider-Man his name and his identity... I feel like my character was responsible for most of the things in his life. I named him in the first, I was basically the main antagonist in the second one, and then came around to help him in the third one."
