Bruce Joel Rubin has agreed to write the screenplay, Into the Light for Fox 2000.

The film is based on Robert Kurson's upcoming book, which was expanded from an article originally published in Esquire. The Hollywood Reporter adds it chronicles the true story of Michael May, a blind athlete who, among other accomplishments, holds the downhill skiing record for a completely blind person, racing at 65 mph. In 1999, May was offered a revolutionary stem-cell operation that potentially could restore his sight.

There's no production schedule set yet for Into the Light.
