On /harrison-ford-joins-the-expendables-3-while-bruce-willis-drops-out/Tuesday, Sylvester Stallone announced via his personal Twitter account that Bruce Willis had bailed on The Expendables 3, but made up for it by confirming Harrison Ford as the latest addition to the cast. At the time, a reason wasn't given for Bruce Willis' departure, but Sly left these two tweets, the second of which seemed to be aimed squarely at his former castmate.
WILLIS OUT... HARRISON FORD IN !!!! GREAT NEWS !!!!! Been waiting years for this!!!!— Sylvester Stallone (@TheSlyStallone) August 6, 2013
GREEDY AND LAZY ...... A SURE FORMULA FOR CAREER FAILURE— Sylvester Stallone (@TheSlyStallone) August 6, 2013
Now, it has been revealed that Sly was in fact calling his pal (and Planet Hollywood partner) greedy and lazy. Mostly greedy, though. Appearing in what basically amounted to a cameo in both The Expendables and The Expendables 2 as Mr. Church, Bruce Willis was asked to return for four days of consecutive work in Bulgaria. The actor, in turn, asked for $4 million total, $1 million a day. The actor said he'd walk if his demands weren't met.
Sylvester Stallone and the rest of The Expendables 3 crew said 'no', but made a counter offer of $3 million. When the actor wouldn't budge, Sylvester Stallone quickly reached out to Harrison Ford, who gladly said yes.
Its being reported that Bruce Willis was shocked upon hearing that he'd been replaced within 72 hours, especially after hearing who replaced him. The actor and his reps declined comment. Its unclear if Harrison Ford will assume the role of Mr. Church, or play a new character in the same vein. Its likely that Harrison Ford will only be shooting four days on this anticipated sequel.
