Entertainment Weekly has reported that Bryan Singer is eyeing The Prisoners, the highly sought for thriller script that has attached Mark Wahlberg to star as a Boston dad who takes the law into his own hands when his young daughter is kidnapped.

The screenplay has been compared to Silence Of The Lambs and Se7en, and has been buzzed about as a calling card for its unknown writer, Aaron Guzikowski, as a rare project targeted at adult audiences with real commercial potential.

Singer said he didn't know if this would be his next project. "But I'm definitely intrigued. It's a great script. And I'd love to work with Mark," he said in an interview with the magazine.
