On May 2nd we reported that Bryan Singer would be pushing back the Superman Returns sequel past 2010, so he could direct The Mayor of Castro Street, a story of gay rights activist Harvey Milk, after finishing up his current film, Valkyrie.

IESB.net contacted sources within the Singer camp to find out the truth on the matter, who had the following response: " "That's total horse sh*t, I would say the same thing if I was producing that film but don't you realize that most of the Superman producers are working with Bryan on Valkyrie? Gil Adler and Chris Lee both are in Germany with Bryan and I can guarantee you that there is some work being done with Superman right now."

This confirms what Singer had already mentioned to members of the press during the Saturn Awards that his plans are to start shooting The Superman Returns sequel by summer of '08.
