Alisa Valdes-Rodriguez's novel The Dirty Girls Social Club has been optioned for a big screen adaptation. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Debra Martin Chase and Nely Galan will produce the film.

The movie will look at the lives of six Latina women that come from very diverse socioeconomic backgrounds. The narrative will follow their careers and their relationships throughout the years. Galan stated, "Knowing how Latinas love novelas, I think Alisa has written the ultimate aspirational novela with six women at the helm that represent all different parts of Latino culture."

Valdes-Rodriguez adapted her own work for the screenplay. Casting is set to begin next week.
