Last November, we reported that Warner Bros. and Atlas Entertainment are moving forward with a Buffy the Vampire Slayer reboot, hiring Whit Anderson to write the screenplay. Now we have word that the project is in limbo, after the studio rejected Whit Anderson's draft. Here's what an insider had to say about Whit Anderson's script.

"If you're going to bring it back, you have to do it right. [Anderson] came in with some great ideas and she had reinvented some of the lore and it was pretty cool but in the end there just wasn't enough on the page."

The studio is currently seeking a new writer for Buffy the Vampire Slayer, although it seems the project might be on the verge of collapsing for good. The proposed reboot received an overwhelmingly negative reaction last year, and even prompted a tongue-in-cheek response from Joss Whedon, who created the Buffy the Vampire Slayer TV series and wrote the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer movie.
