According to Variety, Barry Kemp's Bungalow 78 Prods. has acquired an untitled comedy script set in the world of NASCAR racing from scribes Jason Jordan and Matthew Lawton.
The story centers on a rising NASCAR driver who has been dropped and exiled by his sponsor for bad behavior. He gets a second chance with the only sponsor who will have him: a young cosmetics maven who is looking to expand her brand into the female NASCAR fan base.
Bungalow 78 will develop with producers Carl Rumbaugh, Jason Hervey and Eric Bischoff, the latter two having brought the project to Kemp's shingle. Hervey and Bischoff will serve as exec producers. Kemp, Rumbaugh and Nikki M. Reed will produce.
Kemp's credits include exec producing Catch Me if You Can, "Romy and Michele's High School Reunion" and Patch Adams. Jordan and Lawton have previously teamed on "Blue Collar TV" and "The Jamie Kennedy Experiment."
