Showtime fans can look forward to more of Hank Moody in 2009. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Showtime has ordered another season of Californication.

The pay-cable network has ordered a 12-episode third season for the series, which stars David Duchovny, Natasha McElhone and Madeleine Martin. Production on the third season will begin next spring, aiming for a late 2009 season premiere.

"This unapologetic show, about a group of characters led by the inimitable David Duchovny, has quickly established itself as one of our signature comedy series," Showtime president of entertainment Robert Greenblatt said. "Beneath its veneer of debauchery, however, is a complex take on love and adult relationships that surprisingly turns poetic and romantic just when you least expect it."
