Cameron Duddy and Chris Koby have begun directing the documentary, John Henry for Open Sky Entertainment.

The film is about the feisty and determined Thoroughbred racehorse; Max Eisenberg wrote the script and is also producing. Still alive at the old age of 32 - 100 in human years - John Henry became one of the most successful racehorses of all times, despite his humble beginnings. Variety adds he was named after the folk hero of the same name; the racehorse earned more than $6.5 million at the track, retiring as the richest racehorse in 1985.

John Henry will chronicle the life of the animal through interviews with those who knew him, as well as with jockeys who rode him, including Chris McAnally and Laffit Pincay.
