Fuller House might be over, but cast members Candace Cameron Bure and Andrea Barber, who respectively played lifelong best friends DJ Tanner and Kimmy Gibbler, will soon be reunited on a set once again. Per Deadline, it has just been announced that Barber has boarded the cast of Great American Family's original holiday film Candace Cameron Bure Presents: Christmas on Candy Cane Lane. Barber will be starring alongside Dan Payne (Virgin River). Bure produces the film, as the title suggests, with plans for a premiere this holiday season on the network.

This movie marks the second feature film to come out of Bure's second holiday project with Great American Media, as it was just recently announced that she will executive produce and star in the Christmas movie A Christmas...Present. That film will premiere on the Great American Family network in November. Christmas on Candy Cane Lane is the second project through Bure's deal with Great American Family but th first to be produced under her Candace Cameron Bure Presents banner.

Christie Will directs the film using a screenplay by Teena Booth, though it is based on the novel by Sheila Roberts. It stars Barbers as Ivy Donaldson, a woman "who is going through a transition in her life. Separated from husband, Rob (Payne), and putting on a brave face for her daughter, Ivy also struggles with the long shadow cast by her late mother, Muriel, the darling of Icicle Falls; head of the Candy Cane Lane Lights Extravaganza, owner of The Christmas Haus, and a former TV star known adoringly as the 'Christmas Maven.' The shoes seem too big to fill. When obstacles reach a crescendo for Ivy, a series of comical and mysterious events bring neighbors of Icicle Falls, including Ivy’s entire family, together in a masterstroke of perfection only the 'Christmas Maven' herself could appreciate."

“It brings me great joy to bring you the incredibly talented and funny Andrea Barber," Bure said of the film in a statement. "Having a 30-year bestie friendship both on and off camera has allowed me to find the perfect project to introduce the Christmas genre audience to her brilliant comedic skills, her heartwarming authenticity and vulnerability that is a rare gem today. Just as I have, audiences will fall in love with Andrea’s warmth and relatability, and chuckle along with her all the way down Candy Cane Lane."

Bure executive produces with Jeffery Brooks, Ford Englerth, Jim Head, and Gerald Webb for Candy Rock Entertainment, as well as Brad Kevoy, Eric Jarboe, Amanda Phillips, Lorenzo Nardini, Jimmy Townsend, Susie Belzberg Krevoy, and Doran S. Chandler for Motion Picture Corporation of America. Supervising producers include Kay Metchie, Michael Shepard, Bradley M. Goodman, and Christie Will, while associate producers are Marlisa Fruehauf, Trudi Thorwaldson, Felicia Lee, and Alexandra Maslova.

Bure and Barber previously worked together as child stars on the classic sitcom Full House. They later reprised their respective roles as DJ Tanner and Kimmy Gibbler in the Netflix sequel series Fuller House. While it remains to be seen if Fullest House ever happens, it's clear the two will continue working together on other projects in the meantime.
