With Marvel's The Avengers set to invade theaters in just over one month, Marvel Studios is readying their post-Avengers projects, one of which being Captain America 2. Directors George Nolfi (The Adjustment Bureau), F. Gary Gray (Friday; The Italian Job), and, surprisingly, Community directors/executive producers Joe Russo and Anthony Russo are on the short list to helm this superhero sequel.

While it may seem odd to have a pair of sitcom directors in the mix for a big-budget adventure, an insider reveals the Russo brothers made a good first impression with Marvel Studios' president of production, Kevin Feige.

"Kevin [Feige, Marvel Studios' president of production] is a 'vibe guy.' He likes to see if he gets along with people before he'll decide about spending the next two years with them. And apparently, they hit it off with Kevin in the room."

It is said that meetings are scheduled with all of the finalists early next month, and that a decision could be made as early as mid-April. Actor Neal McDonough, who played Dum Dum Dugan in Captain America: The First Avenger, said back in January that Captain America 2 will likely begin shooting at the end of this year, after Thor 2 wraps principal photography.
