Captain America: The First Avenger doesn't hit theaters until July 22, and a sequel is already in the early stages of development, with screenwriters Christopher Markus and Stephen McFeely confirmed to return for Captain America 2. Stephen McFeely recently gave an interview where he spoke about Captain America: The First Avenger and Captain America 2. Here's what he had to say below, indicating that they haven't decided on a villain for the sequel yet.

"It's undetermined. I will pass that question, how about that?"

Back in April, we reported that Captain America 2 may return to the World War II era. Stephen McFeely confirmed the earlier story, adding they are trying out flashback techniques to implement that time period into the sequel.

"Well, our hope is that there is room and we're negotiating how to do that now. The story will likely be in the present day. We're experimenting with flashback elements for more period World War II stuff. I can't say much more than that but we made it baggy enough to refer to more stories in the past."

The writer also indicated he left gaps in the Captain America: The First Avenger story line, which they may return to in the sequel.

"Absolutely. He had more adventures than just the one you're going to see in the movie."
