Last week, we showed you Captain America: Civil War set photos that showed Frank Grillo's full Crossbones costume. As it turns out, that ominous mask worn by the actor hides a number of gruesome facial scars, as we can see in today's batch of photos from the Atlanta set. The scars in question are seen around Crossbones' eyes, and it seems that this villainous character is lucky to have the ability of sight at all. There is still very little we know about how Crossbones figures into the Captain America: Civil War story line, but it seems possible that he is going after The Falcon (Anthony Mackie).

As you may recall, Crossbones was last seen battling The Falcon in last year's Captain America: The Winter Soldier, as the Triskelion came crumbling down all around them. This battle left Crossbones (a.k.a. Brock Rumlow) scarred and disfigured. The full Crossbones costume we saw last week also featured a pair of mechanical arms, so it's possible that he lost the ability to use various parts of his body after he was pulled from the Triskelion rubble. It remains to be seen how much Crossbones will be wearing his full mask to cover up these scars in the movie, but these prosthetic scars were certainly put there for a reason, so they will surely be seen on screen at some point.

Captain America: Civil War also stars Chris Evans (Captain America), Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man), Scarlett Johansson (Black Widow), Sebastian Stan (The Winter Soldier), Paul Bettany (Vision), Jeremy Renner (Hawkeye), Don Cheadle (War Machine), Elizabeth Olsen (Scarlet Witch) and Chadwick Boseman (Black Panther). What do you think about Crossbones' scars? Take a look at the photos below, and stay tuned for more images from the set as Captain America: Civil War continues production in Atlanta.
