Be warned, there will be SPOILERS for Avengers: Age of Ultron below, some of which we reported on back in March that have now been confirmed. This particular spoiler involves one of the new Avengers that joins the team at the end of the sequel. However, if you look at the recent marketing efforts for Avengers: Age of Ultron, this character has been referenced as an Avenger already. As it turns out, producer Kevin Feige teases that this hero will also be popping up in the first Phase Three movie, Captain America: Civil War. This is your last chance to avoid SPOILERS, so read on at your own risk.

Yesterday, we reported that Captain Marvel won't be introduced in Avengers: Age of Ultron, but the character was featured in an earlier draft of the script. As it turns out, director Joss Whedon had actually filmed "plate shots" to introduce Captain Marvel as one of the new Avengers team members at the end of the sequel, but they ended up using those shots for Elizabeth Olsen's Scarlet Witch instead, sporting her new costume as she joins the team. He also said that Scarlet Witch's intro will "feed into" a movie that starts shooting in a few weeks, which is Captain America: Civil War. Here's what Kevin Feige had to say below.

"The way we reveal Scarlet Witch [in costume] at the end of the movie? Those were Captain Marvel plate shots. Joss said, 'We'll cast her later!' And I said, 'Yeah Joss, we'll cast her later.' [Whispers to an invisible associate who isn't Joss] 'We're not putting her in there!' Finally Joss was like 'Let's use those plates to let Scarlet Witch fly into frame, give her a big entrance?' And that makes sense - she's come to their side, and she deserves the cool intro, which will feed into another movie we start shooting in a few weeks."

The report from March did reveal that Captain America: Civil War will feature Scarlet Witch, along with previously-confirmed characters such as Captain America (Chris Evans), Iron Man (Robert Downey Jr.), Crossbones (Frank Grillo), Black Panther (Chadwick Boseman), Black Widow (Scarlett Johansson) and Hawkeye (Jeremy Renner), along with unconfirmed characters such as Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), Thor (Chris Hemsworth), War Machine (Don Cheadle) and a "fourteen-year-old Peter Parker." Peter Parker has not been cast yet, but with Kevin Feige teasing the presence of Scarlet Witch in Captain America: Civil War, it seems possible that these other characters could be in the mix as well. With production starting soon in Atlanta, hopefully we'll get confirmation of the full cast of characters that will be appearing in Captain America: Civil War.
