Fans who attended the D23 Expo in August were the first to see footage from Captain America: Civil War, just one week after production wrapped. Since then, we haven't heard anything about when the first official trailer for Captain America: Civil War will arrive. But earlier today, a rumor from Heroic Hollywood claimed that the first teaser will be attached to Spectre, which hits theaters on November 6. Shortly after that unconfirmed rumor emerged, another report from Collider revealed that the footage will actually be attached to prints of Star Wars: The Force Awakens, in theaters December 18.

Neither report has been confirmed, but Heroic Hollywood reached out to other sources who also claim that the Captain America: Civil War trailer will arrive with Star Wars: The Force Awakens. If this is eventually confirmed by Marvel, it certainly makes more sense to release the trailer with Star Wars: The Force Awakens, which is expected to shatter box office records. It isn't known if the trailer will arrive online before or after the theatrical debut, but we'll have to wait and see.

Both Disney and Marvel have a history of strategically releasing trailers that tie into the company's other interests. For example, the final Star Wars: The Force Awakens trailer debuted during halftime of ESPN's Monday Night Football, a network owned by Disney. Back in March, Marvel also released a trailer for Avengers: Age of Ultron during an episode of American Crime, which airs on Disney-owned ABC. The studio has also had plenty of tie-ins for the Marvel Cinematic Universe on ABC's Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D. and Marvel's Agent Carter.

What will actually be shown in the Captain America: Civil War trailer remains to be seen, but another mystery has surfaced, which could also lend credence to the notion that Captain America: Civil War's trailer will arrive with Star Wars: The Force Awakens. Several months ago, a Twitter account dubbed Russo Brothers arrived, while Captain America: Civil War was in production. The account has never been confirmed as belonging to Captain America: Civil War directors Anthony Russo and Joe Russo, but over the past few months, the account has released a number of obscure photos that may or may not have come from the set. Last week, the account posted two images, with the one on the right seemingly featuring Captain America-esque stars, along with a blurry image, which a Collider reader claims is from an obscure Star Wars poster.

The source of these photos have not been confirmed, but it could be just another hint that fans will see the first Captain America: Civil War trailer on the big screen with Star Wars: The Force Awakens on December 18. Take a look at the tweet from this mysterious Russo Brothers account, along with the Star Wars poster that is getting a close-up in that tweet. Let us know what you think about these new details, and stay tuned for any updates regarding the Captain America: Civil War trailer.
