Coming from Disney and Marvel, Avengers: Age of Ultron is marketed and sold as a family film. Even if the sequel is a little bit darker and grittier this time around, we probably won't see Captain America engaged in any on-screen love making. Especially since Steve Rogers is such a wholesome American hero with proper morals. He did get to kiss Black Widow in Captain America: The Winter Soldier, but she has since moved onto Bruce Banner in this latest adventure. That may change with Captain America: Civil War. Speaking with Entertainment Weekly, Chris Evans teases the idea of a love interest for his next big Marvel blockbuster. That, of course, led to the big question: Is Captain America a virgin? The actor thinks he knows the answer.
Chris Evans is looking forward to Captain America: Civil War. It will give him a chance to broaden the character he has played in four movies and counting. It will also allow him to expand on his relationships. He explains:
"That's why it's kind of exciting to look forward to Cap 3. I think we really scratched the surface on something great and I think there's just so much to explore. Not just with the evolution of myself and [Anthony] Mackie's character, but the reconnection with Bucky, and ultimately a relationship with a woman.
This led directly into the idea of Captain America being a virgin. Chris Evans isn't asked outright, but decides to explore the question on his own, giving his idea of an answer. He says:
"It's funny when you think about it - he's probably a virgin. [Laughs.] He's probably a virgin! I don't know when it would've happened....He was on tour. Maybe one of those [dancing] girls blew his mind. [Laughs] He's probably just a good guy. He was probably holding out for Peggy Carter and he's a little more old-fashioned in that sense. These are a lot of things that I think are giant conflicts, but they're also very personal conflicts. He's a very human guy. That's why I like him."
What do you think? Did Captain America lose his virginity on an USO tour? Or is he too good for that? Will Steve Rogers get a proper love interest in Captain America: Civil War? Or will he be too busy fighting the Superhero registration act? We'll have to wait until next year to find out!
