7 Anna Karenina

Cara Delevingne made her big screen debut in a non-speaking role with Joe Wright’s Anna Karenina, a film which depicts the tragedy of Russian aristocrat and socialite Anna Karenina, wife of senior statesman Alexei Karenin, and her affair with the affluent cavalry officer Count Vronsky. Keira Knightley stars in the leading role, and Jude Law stars as her husband. Delevingne’s role as Princess Sorokina was non-speaking, but it was nonetheless a strong introduction to Delevingne in the world of cinema and even in a non-speaking role she blended well with the cast.

6 London Fields

In 2018, Cara Delevingne starred in Matthew Cullen’s mystery thriller film, London Fields. The film is based on the 1989 novel of the same name and stars Billy Bob Thornton as Samson Young, a terminally ill writer who has suffered from writer's block for 20 years, and Amber Heard as Nicola, a clairvoyant femme fatale, who lives with a premonition that she will be murdered. Delevingne stars as Kath Talent, and although the film received poor reviews, it’s enjoyable to see her in a different kind role featured more prominently.

5 Life in a Year

Cara Delevigne enjoyed a more prominent role in Mitja Okorn’s romantic drama, Life in a Year. She co-stars with Jaden Smith (Daryn) as Isabelle as a couple whose life is turned around when Isabelle is given a terminal diagnosis, which means she is left with only a year to live. Her boyfriend plans to give her all of life’s experiences that he can in only one year, and it’s a genuinely touching film. The film received mixed reviews, but shows Delevingne’s potential as a leading actor.

4 Carnival Row

Cara Delevingne starred in the neo-noir series Carnival Row, which began streaming on Amazon Prime in 2019. The series follows a detective and a fairy who begin an affair in a fantasy world which is plagued by the murders of a monster. Delevingne plays Vignette Stonemoss, a fairy and Philo's former lover who believed him to be dead following the war. Philo is played by Orlando Bloom, and the pair do have great chemistry. The show was renewed for a second season, which we are excited to see.

3 Her Smell

Delevingne featured in 2018’s critically acclaimed drama, Her Smell. The movie focuses on Becky (Elizabeth Moss), a punk rock singer who struggles with sobriety while trying to recapture the initial inspiration which led to her success. Cara Delevingne plays Crassie Cassie, a member of an upcoming band known as Akergirls, who looks up to Becky. It’s a chaotic film with some memorable scenes, and Delevingne's performance adds to the success of this film.

2 Suicide Squad

Suicide Squad was directed by David Ayer and released in 2016.The film tells the story of secret government agency led by Amanda Waller recruits imprisoned supervillains to execute dangerous black ops missions and save the world from a powerful threat in exchange for reduced sentences. Delevingne plays The Enchantress, and co-stars alongside an ensemble cast including Will Smith, Jared Leto, Margot Robbie, Joel Kinnaman, Viola Davis, Jai Courtney, Jay Hernandez, Adewale Akinnuoye-Agbaje, Scott Eastwood, Karen Fukuhara and Ike Barinholtz. The film received poor reviews, however, was a turning point for Delevingne, appearing in a high budget franchise film that produced several successful sequels (even though Delevingne's Enchantress did not return).

1 Paper Towns

Delevingne featured as a leading role in Jake Schreier’s Paper Towns in 2015, and this was widely considered to be her breakout role in acting as she had not featured in a speaking role up until this point. She stars as Margo alongside Nat Wolff who plays Quentin. It’s based off of the John Greene novel of the same name, and was a strong debut for Cara in the acting world, receiving positive reviews.
