Casey Affleck, Chiwetel Ejiofor and Michael B. Jordan are in talks to join Christoph Waltz and Cate Blanchett in Triple Nine.

The story follows a group of criminals who plan on murdering an L.A.P.D. cop (Casey Affleck), to divert attention away from the massive heist they are planning on the other side of town. Chiwetel Ejiofor will play a career criminal who is masterminding the whole operation, while Michael B. Jordan portrays a dirty cop who sets up Casey Affleck's character. Casey Affleck replaces Charlie Hunnam, who was in talks to join the cast this summer, while Cate Blanchett's involvement hinges on scheduling. The title refers to the police code for an officer who needs immediate assistance.

John Hillcoat is directing from a screenplay by Matt Cook, with Keith Redmon, Bard Dorros and Steve Golin producing for Anonymous Content. Megan Ellison is financing through Panorama Media. Production is scheduled to begin next year.
