Some are saying the true crime craze has gone too far with the imminent arrival of a new docuseries focusing on the murder of Caylee Anthony. As was widely covered by the press, the 2-year-old girl's mother, Casey Anthony, was charged for her murder in a televised trial in 2011. Controversially, Casey was found not guilty of the murder, though the consensus from the majority of the public is that she was involved with the horrific killing and subsequent coverup. In any case, Anthony has led a mostly private life over the past decade. That changes with Peacock's new three-part docuseries, dubbed Casey Anthony: Where the Truth Lies. Set to start streaming on Nov. 29, the series features Anthony's first on-camera interview since she was found not guilty of murder. A teaser trailer has been released, revealing a sneak peek at the interview, which you can watch below.

What all Anthony has to say about the situation remains to be seen, though what we know is it will feature Anthony professing her innocence. The idea behind the documentary, according to those close to Anthony, is to finally clear her name, giving the accused murderer a chance to sway public opinion by explaining everything that occurred from her point of view.

An unnamed source close to Anthony is quoted as telling People, "Everyone has been talking about Casey for 14 years. But she hasn't really talked. So now she's ready to talk. She will finally set the record straight."

"I didn't do what I was accused of, but I fought for three years," Anthony herself also said in a previous interview with the Associated Press, which wasn't filmed. "Not just for me, but for my daughter."

She added, "Based off what was in the media, I understand the reasons people feel about me. I understand why people have the opinions that they do."

There are many people who are clearly not happy about Peacock developing a Casey Anthony docuseries, especially with her participation. Even with a not guilty verdict, people say that the truth is still clear and that it's "disgusting" to provide a platform, as well as a high-dollar paycheck, to someone believed to have murdered her child. Some say that makes this worse than something like Netflix's Dahmer series, which offered no financial gain for the deceased serial killer.

Nancy Grace, who famously spent a lot time covering who she dubbed the "Tot Mom" during the trial, has also spoken out about Peacock doing the show. Grace claims she was contacted by the documentary's filmmakers about participating, but said "absolutely not," unwilling to do anything that would benefit Anthony.

"They're gonna make money, that's why they're doing it," Grace told TMZ. "She's gonna have softball questions and lie her way through it... This is a way for her to get fame, notoriety, as if she needed any more, and probably money."
