Tintin is coming to the screen in the form of a film trilogy collaboration between Steve Spielberg and Peter Jackson. IGN has learned that casting for the film began this week. The comic series of Tintin, created by Herge, follows a world-traveling young journalist and his companions.

Spielberg has said that the film will be shot entirely with motion capture technology, a technique familiar to Jackson after his work on The Lord Of The Rings: Fellowship of The Ring and King Kong, but relatively new to Spielberg. Each filmmaker will shoot 30 days of footage with Spielberg shooting in the U.S., and Jackson filming in New Zealand.

Actors are being cast in Los Angeles for nearly all of Tintin's supporting cast, including roles which may be in more than one of the films in the trilogy.
