Netflix has revealed the first trailer for Castlevania season 3. The streaming service recently released the first poster for the new season, in addition to handing out a March release date for the popular anime series. It was quite clear a trailer wasn't far behind and, sure enough, we've got one to feast our eyes upon now. The show looks to be ramping up in scale this time around, with new threats, massive beasts and lots of blood. It's pure chaos. The company promises there will be "more mystery, murder, mayhem, and vampires than ever," and this trailer certainly backs that up.

Things kick into high-gear quickly as the trailer starts out with a shot of an epic beast soaring through the air and crashing into a cathedral with explosive results. The footage then reminds us that Dracula is dead, via a rather epic speech as action-packed, monster-filled clips roll on. We then get to the heart of the matter, which sees a group of vampires that want to see humans extinguished from the planet. For a first look at the upcoming season, it's quite epic and delivers big in the spectacle department. The Synthy score should also serve as music to the ears of fans who loved the games back in the day.

Castlevania season 3 centers on Trevor Belmont, the lone survivor of his house. Be that as it may, he is no longer on his own as he and his band of misfit comrades must race to find a way to save humanity from certain doom at the hands of the grief-maddened Dracula and his sinister vampire war council. The cast for the video game adaptation includes Richard Armitage (Trevor), Graham McTavish (Dracula), Alejandra Reynoso (Sypha) and Ade McCormack (Isaac).

Animation has been a cornerstone of Netflix original content for some time, but Castlevania helped cement them as a major player in the anime game. The show debuted in 2017 to rave reviews, and currently holds a 90 percent approval rating on Rotten Tomatoes. While video game movies have proved challenging for Hollywood, the consensus seems to be that this show nailed it. The series hails from director Sam Deats and writer/executive producer Warren Ellis, as well as executive producers Adi Shankar, Fred Seibert and Kevin Kolde.

First introduced to the world in 1986 as a video game developed by Konami, Castlevania has endured as a franchise for more than 30 years. To date, more than 20 different video games in the series have been produced, with more than 20 million copies sold. Outside of the games, IDW has published comic books based on the title and toymakers such as NECA have immortalized the characters in that way. Hollywood has tinkered with the idea of a movie for some time, but nothing has come to fruition. Castlevania season 3 is set to arrive on March 5 via the Netflix streaming service. Be sure to check out the new trailer for yourself.
