CBS is producing two star-studded specials that will benefit the disadvantaged children of the world. According to The Hollywood Reporter, both of these specials will air in June.
The first is entitled Listen Live. It will premier on June 6th and run for two hours. The program will feature live artistic events from the world of film, music, television, literature and the visual arts. The special will focus on the needs and rights of children affected by war, disease, exploitation, poverty and AIDS.
The second special is entitled Why Listen. It debuts on June 7th and will run for one hour. It will feature eight actors as they travel to remote parts of the world to help children in crisis. Natalie Portman, Samuel L. Jackson, Ashley Judd, Ben Kingsley, Jessica Lange, Brooke Shields, Goldie Hawn and Kurt Russell have all signed on to help.
The specials will raise money for Listen Charity Campaign 2008, which is expected to fund several charity projects worldwide.
