CBS is taking on two dramas about an exorcist and 1970s swinging couples.

Both shows are following the new nontraditional, often risky formula the network is trying out. The exorcist show, Demons, from Barbara Hall and Joe Roth, centers on an ex-Jesuit priest/psychologist who performs exorcisms, says The Hollywood Reporter.

The '70s dance program, Swingtown, from Mike Kelley, explores the concept of open marriages and couple-swapping practiced by suburban couples in the disco decade. Alan Poul is directing the pilot.

The network hasn't officially picked up either show; if they are, look for a fall 2007 add to the lineup.
