It seems that daytime TV will get a new version of a familiar game show in the near future. According to Variety, CBS has picked up a new version of the classic game show Let's Make a Deal.

The network had shot a pilot with Wayne Brady as the host of the series and it seems likely Brady will return to the series. It was said that the show will likely take over the daytime slot once filled by Guiding Light, which will air its final episode on September 18 after a 72-year run that spanned both radio and television.

The original Let's Make a Deal ran from 1963 into the 1990s, hosted by Monty Hall, which featured a variety of bizarre games where contestants could win cash and prizes. A failed attempt to resurrect the show in primetime happened in 2003, with Billy Bush as the host.
