It seems that Fox might have found its latest Avatar-esque sci-fi film with a star already in place. Heat Vision Blog is reporting that Channing Tatum is attached to star in the new sci-fi film Ion, with Fox 2000 as the lead contender to pick up the project.

Will Dunn wrote the spec script, which was said to be a, "sci-fi romantic epic." The story revolves around a man who travels throughout the different Earth's in the universe to try and find his lover who was reincarnated. Tony Scott and Ridley Scott are on board as producers.

The script is being compared to Avatar in terms of its scope and other fantasy elements. Dunn's script actually made the rounds last year and didn't find a home but, now, in today's post-Avatar climate, the project has sparked the interest of several studios.
