Channing Tatum and his producing partner Reid Carolin are eyeing an adaptation of Jo Nesbø's upcoming novel The Son as their joint directorial debut, with Channing Tatum being eyed to star.

Nothing is official yet, but Channing Tatum, Reid Carolin and producer Kevin McCormick were recently spotted in Oslo having dinner with Jo Nesbø.

The story centers on a young man who is in prison for confessing to crimes he didn't commit. When his father, who is believed to be a corrupt cop, allegedly commits suicide, the young man finds out that his dad was really an honest man and was murdered, causing him to break out of prison to avenge his father's death, while trying to rectify the crimes he confessed to. The novel, which will be published in Norway tomorrow and in the U.S. this May, was acquired by Warner Bros. and Kevin McCormick's Langley Park back in 2012.

The producers are currently seeking a writer to adapt the novel. Channing Tatum and Reid Carolin previously produced Magic Mike, White House Down and 10 Years together.
