It seems David E. Kelley has made another discovery in Charity Wakefield. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Kelley has signed on the little-known Wakefield for the female lead in his new series, Legally Mad. Jon Seda has also joined the cast, which includes Kristen Chenoweth.

Much like Kelley did with unknown Calista Flockhart for his series Ally McBeal, Kelley has given the lead to the unknown Wakefield, a 27 year old British actress. The series will revolve around her character, Brady Hamm, a charming young woman who takes a job at her father's law firm - after turning down several more prestigious jobs - and quickly becomes the epicenter of the firm. Seda will play the cantankerous but loveable Joe Matty in the series.

Wakefield received her big break in 2008's BBC mini-series adaptation of Sense and Sensibility, playing the role of Marion Dashwood, a role that Kate Winslet portrayed in the 1995 Sense and Sensibility film.

No production schedule for the series was released.
