A British actor-director has found his follow-up directorial effort. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Charles Dance will write and direct The Inn at the Edge of the World, an adaptation of Alice Thomas-Ellis' novel.

Dance, a British actor who made his directorial debut with Ladies in Lavender, has signed on Michael Gambon, Stephen Fry and Penelope Wilton for the film. The story revolves around a random group of people who seek refuge from the Christmas season at a tiny Scottish island. Dance will not appear in the film and will only serve as writer-director.

The film is scheduled to go before cameras this May, on location in Scotland.
