The Shield alum Charles "Chic" Eglee is exchanging in one anti-hero for another, joining Showtime's serial killer hit Dexter as an executive producer.

According to Variety, Eglee fills the void left by Daniel Cerone, who left the show after its second season (and recently joined ABC's Dirty Sexy Money).

Eglee's credits also include Dark Angel, Murder One, NYPD Blue and The Byrds of Paradise.

Dexter stars Michael C. Hall as a Miami police department lab technician who also happens to be a serial killer -- targeting other villains as his prey.
