Daredevil was a Netflix original series based on the Stan Lee Marvel Comics series of the same name. The show revolves around Matt Murdock, attorney in New York City who also happens to be a vigilante with extraordinary powers that he gained after losing his sight as a child. With superior senses, Matt fights crime and evil on the streets of Hell's Kitchen while also managing to believe in the criminal justice system during the day. In the MCU, he is played by Charlie Cox, who is undoubtedly the best actor to ever perform the role. The series ran for a total of three seasons on Netflix before it was canceled and moved to Disney+ in early-2022.

With Disney making the appropriate decision to officially bring Daredevil into the MCU, the anticipation for Matt's next appearance is palpable. Most recently, Matt has made notable cameos in She-Hulk: Attorney at Law. Prior to that, he served as Peter's lawyer in Spider-Man: No Way Home. What shocked people most about his appearance in the former was that his costume appeared markedly different from the outfit that we had previously seen on his eponymous TV show. Since this new change, many have gone back to look at all the different costumes that Cox has donned as Daredevil. Indeed, here's all of Charlie Cox’s Daredevil costumes, ranked.

Black Homemade Suit — Daredevil

Before the appearance of the classic red suit we all associate with Daredevil, Matt Murdock was still out fighting evil in Hell’s Kitchen without any official heroic costume. Instead, he opted for an all black get-up with a bandana covering his eyes and his hands wrapped like a boxer’s would be. This pays homage to Matt’s boxing skills and his father's legacy as a professional boxer. While this “costume” is the epitome of a DIY, that is part of what makes it so lovable. Despite the fact that everything Matt is wearing could be found at the back of a closet, this costume still pays close attention to detail, giving it more charm than any suit he’s had made for him, as shown in the original Daredevil series.

Since the announcement that Daredevil would be returning to the MCU in Daredevil: Born Again, fans everywhere have been anticipating his return and, boy, did they get it. In She-Hulk: Attorney at Law, Matt Murdock appears as Jennifer Walters' opposing counsel. Later in the episode, he also suits up to take down a low-level bad guy, and, this time, he has a new suit. Rather than being in an all-dark red, devilish looking costume, Matt dons a yellow and red version of the suit. While some fans have mixed feelings about the new appearance of the hero, the meaning behind the suit may make up for its flaws. Per Collider, the yellow suit serves as more of a tribute to his father than the classic Daredevil suit we all know and love. It’s unclear whether this will become the new norm for the Daredevil reboot, but it is clear that Disney is taking a whole new route with Matt Murdock.

Nothing can top the original suit design that Matt was given. From the little devil horns attached to the head piece to the slick design for easy movement, this costume has become the iconic version of Charlie Cox’s Daredevil that is nearly impossible not to recognize. Throughout the original Daredevil series, his suit receives a number of alterations and modifications to better suit Matt's needs. That being said, the overall look of the suit remains the same. Considering the fact that Dex winds up stealing Matt's costume and passes himself off as Daredevil just goes to show the memorability of Daredevil's costume. Of course, it's important to remember that a costume is not what makes a hero.
